Laces Strike - Individual Ball Striking Drill

The Skill

This is a basic ball striking skill that is used mainly for a shot on goal or a defensive clearance. This technique allows you to hit the ball with power as well as dip and swerve.

The Drill

Start with the ball on the floor and with your laces hit the ball into the Spot so that it comes back between the lines of cones. Take a touch so you can repeat the laces strike with your other foot. To complete the drill you need to be able to strike the ball so that it comes back within the coned area 5 times on your right foot and 5 times on your left foot. Start over if you miss or if the ball goes out of the coned area. As you improve move back to increase the difficulty until you can achieve the Pro target playing behind the 6m line.
