DRILLS

Look and turn - Individual Ball Control Drill

The Skill

Knowing what's going on around you on the field allows you to make the right call in those critical seconds as the ball comes toward you. The drill teaches you to look over your shoulder while the ball is in the air so you know whats going on behind you.

The Drill

Start by passing the ball into the Spot so it comes back to your feet. As the ball comes back look over your shoulder to see what's behind you. As quickly as possible look back to the ball and let it bounce between your legs and use your instep to knock the ball behind your standing foot. Now dribble through the cones at the back. Using your other foot pass the ball into the Spot and repeat the drill going in the opposite direction. See how many times you can do this in a minute.
