DRILLS

Laces Volley - Individual Volley Drill

The Skill

The laces volley is a skill used for a shot on goal or for a clearance. This technique will allow you to put power into your shot. The laces volley will also allow you to hit the ball with top spin or side spin to make it dip or swerve.

The Drill

Start from the 2m to 3m lines by throwing the ball into the air so it bounces directly in front of the rebounder to around waist height. Standing with the rebounder directly in front of you, hit the ball into the spot with the laces of your strongest foot. Keep your head over the ball and work on your technique and accuracy first then start to build up the power. Catch the ball after your shot or let it go over your head and repeat. When you get better, stand further back. Work on both your left and right foot.
